Counting scales are one of the most commonly used scales throughout the world. It simplifies a task that would otherwise take excessive amounts of time to complete. Although there is a large range of options for counting scales based on brand, capacity, readability, and overall size, the function of counting is always the same. A sample of parts can be taken and placed on the scale. The quantity of the sample must be keyed into the counting scale and then confirmed. Once confirmed, more of those parts can be placed on the scale and be counted accurately up to the capacity. That is assuming that the scale is calibrated and operated properly.
