The KP-47U is designed for vacuum filtration of liquid samples under sterile (aseptic) conditions. It is commonly used in microbiological testing, water analysis, pharmaceutical labs, and environmental monitoring where contamination control is critical.

This unit is built for 47 mm membrane filters, which are a standard size for laboratory filtration. It provides a filtration area of approximately 13–13.5 cm², supporting efficient processing of samples.

The funnel and base are made from durable polysulfone, a material known for excellent chemical resistance, impact strength, and autoclavability. This makes it a reliable alternative to glass filtration units while maintaining high performance in lab environments.

The unit includes a funnel cover with a Luer-slip port that can be vented using a sterile syringe filter, allowing air exchange without introducing contaminants. It also features a recessed filter support to prevent membrane damage during setup.

The KP-47U features a 300 mL graduated funnel, polysulfone construction, silicone seals, and compatibility with standard vacuum flasks or manifolds. It can operate under vacuum pressures up to ~25 inHg and is autoclavable (typically 121°C) for repeated use.
