The Vivaspin® 20 is a centrifugal ultrafiltration device designed to concentrate, desalt, or exchange buffers in biological samples. It is widely used for proteins, nucleic acids, antibodies, and other macromolecules in research and biopharma labs.

This unit is optimized for sample volumes between approximately 5 mL and 20 mL in swing-bucket rotors (and around 14 mL in fixed-angle rotors), making it suitable for mid-volume laboratory workflows.

A 50 kDa molecular weight cutoff (MWCO) means the membrane retains molecules larger than ~50,000 Daltons while allowing smaller molecules and solvents to pass through. This is ideal for concentrating proteins or biomolecules above that size.

The device features a twin vertical membrane design, which enables very fast filtration and concentration (often over 100×) while maintaining high recovery rates (>90%). It also includes volume graduations and a dead-stop pocket for easy sample retrieval.
