Whatman Grade 226 filter paper is a general-purpose qualitative filter designed for routine laboratory filtration. It is commonly used for separating coarse particles, gelatinous precipitates, and general sample clarification in industrial and educational laboratories.

Grade 226 features a fast filtration rate with coarse particle retention (approximately 20–25 µm). The creped surface improves flow speed and helps prevent clogging when filtering suspensions with larger particles.

This model includes 200 mm diameter circular filter papers supplied in a pack of 100, making them suitable for larger funnels and higher-volume filtration applications.

The filter is made from creped gray cellulose with wet-strengthened resin, improving durability during wet handling and extending the life of the filter during routine qualitative analysis.

The creped gray surface increases filtration speed and provides visual contrast, making it easier to observe retained particles or precipitates. This design also improves loading capacity during filtration.
