Whatman Grade GF/F glass microfiber filters are commonly used for laboratory filtration tasks such as protein purification, DNA binding, and clarification of biochemical solutions. They are also widely used in environmental testing, including landfill leachate analysis and other water-quality measurements.

This filter provides a typical particle retention of about 0.6–0.8 µm (approximately 0.7 µm). This fine retention allows it to capture very small suspended particles while maintaining fast filtration speeds.

GF/F filters are manufactured from pure borosilicate glass microfiber without binders. This composition provides excellent chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, and reliable particle retention for demanding laboratory applications.

Glass microfiber filters like GF/F have a high loading capacity and rapid flow rate, allowing them to handle larger amounts of particulate matter without clogging quickly. This makes them especially useful when filtering samples that contain heavy or fine particulate loads.
