Whatman 1114-400 Filter Circles, 400mm Dia, Wet Strengthened Grade 114, 100/pk (PN:1114-400)

Grade 114 filter papers are designed for general qualitative filtration, especially for separating coarse or gelatinous precipitates. They are commonly used in laboratory sample preparation and routine analytical workflows.

Wet-strengthened filter paper contains a chemically stable resin that increases durability when wet, allowing the paper to resist tearing during filtration. This makes it ideal for handling heavier or more difficult samples.

Grade 114 offers approximately 25 µm particle retention with a fast filtration rate (~38 seconds per 100 mL), making it suitable for applications where speed is important and ultra-fine filtration is not required.

These filters are made from high-quality cellulose fibers, providing consistent performance, low extractables, and compatibility with a wide range of laboratory solutions.

Grade 114 is about half the thickness of Grade 113, offering faster flow while still maintaining good strength. Its smooth surface also allows easy recovery of retained precipitates, improving efficiency in analytical work.
