Whatman Anodisc filters are made from inorganic aluminum oxide (Anopore) with a highly uniform honeycomb pore structure, ensuring extremely precise filtration. Unlike traditional membranes, they capture particles on the surface rather than within the depth, resulting in more accurate and reproducible results.

A 0.02 µm pore size is ideal for ultra-fine filtration, including removal of very small particulates, viruses, and nanoparticles. It is commonly used in electron microscopy sample prep, water analysis, and high-purity laboratory workflows where maximum filtration efficiency is required.

When wet, the membrane becomes virtually transparent, allowing direct observation of captured particles under a microscope. Combined with its flat, rigid surface, this makes it especially suitable for SEM, fluorescence staining, and cell analysis applications.
