Grade 230 is a general-purpose qualitative filter paper designed for routine laboratory filtration and industrial applications. It is commonly used for clarifying liquids and separating coarse particles where speed and capacity are more important than fine retention.

This filter paper typically retains particles in the range of approximately 25–30 microns, making it ideal for coarse filtration tasks and high-throughput workflows where faster filtration is required.

Grade 230 features a creped (crinkled) surface, which increases surface area and improves flow rate and dirt-holding capacity. This design allows it to process larger sample volumes more efficiently than smoother filter papers.

The 500 mm diameter is designed for large-scale filtration setups, such as:

Industrial filtration processes
Large Büchner funnel or tray filtration
Bulk sample preparation

It is ideal when handling high volumes of liquid or large sample batches.

Grade 230 is best suited for routine qualitative analysis and general filtration. While it provides reliable performance, it is not recommended for highly critical or trace analysis where very fine retention or ultra-low ash content is required.
