Whatman Grade 2 filter paper is designed for general laboratory filtration where moderate particle retention and good flow rate are required. It is commonly used for routine qualitative analysis, sample clarification, environmental testing, and educational laboratory work. Grade 2 provides slightly finer retention than Grade 1 with somewhat slower filtration speed.

Grade 2 qualitative filter paper has an approximate 8 µm particle retention, making it suitable for separating medium-fine precipitates while maintaining reasonable filtration speed.

This product includes 240 mm diameter circular filter papers supplied in a pack of 100, making them suitable for large funnel filtration or bulk laboratory sample processing.

These filters are manufactured from high-quality cellulose filter paper designed for qualitative analytical work. The hydrophilic cellulose structure allows easy wetting and consistent filtration performance for aqueous samples.

Grade 2 is more retentive and more absorbent than Grade 1, but with slightly slower filtration time. This makes it a good middle-ground option when finer retention is needed without switching to very slow filter grades.
