This filter is designed for rapid clarification of aqueous solutions, including cell culture media, buffers, and lab reagents. It is ideal for removing particulates and debris before downstream applications such as analysis or sterilization.

The 0.45 µm pore size effectively removes cell debris, particulates, and larger microorganisms, while the glass fiber (GF) prefilter captures larger particles first. This dual-layer design improves filtration efficiency and prevents premature clogging.

The combination of cellulose acetate (CA) membrane and glass fiber prefilter provides higher flow rates and better handling of particle-heavy samples. It is especially useful when filtering viscous or contaminated solutions that would quickly block standard membranes.

This unit is sterile and ready to use, but with a 0.45 µm pore size, it is primarily intended for clarification rather than full sterilization. For complete bacterial removal, a 0.2 µm filter is typically recommended.

The ZapCap-S PLUS is designed to fit standard laboratory bottles with 33–45 mm neck sizes and works seamlessly with most vacuum filtration systems, making it easy to integrate into existing lab setups.
