The Pall 12994 AcroPak 1000 capsule filter is designed for high-throughput filtration of laboratory liquids such as buffers, cell culture media, and aqueous solutions. This capsule filter uses a dual-layer membrane with 0.8 µm and 0.45 µm pore sizes. The larger upstream membrane captures coarse particles, while the smaller membrane performs fine filtration, helping improve filtration efficiency and extend filter life.

The Supor membrane is made from hydrophilic polyethersulfone (PES). This material offers high flow rates, low protein binding, and excellent chemical compatibility, making it suitable for biological and pharmaceutical laboratory applications.

The filter provides an effective filtration area of approximately 1000 cm², allowing it to process large sample volumes—often up to about 100–150 liters depending on the liquid and particulate load. This makes it useful for both laboratory and pilot-scale filtration tasks.
