The A&D GC-6K is designed for efficient parts counting, inventory control, kitting, packaging, and stock management. With a 6 kg (approximately 12 lb) capacity and 1 g readability, it is a practical choice for counting fasteners, hardware, electronic components, fittings, connectors, and other uniform parts in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, assembly areas, and distribution centers.

The GC-6K incorporates A&D's Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement (ACAI) technology, which can refine the calculated average unit weight as additional pieces are added. This helps improve counting accuracy when individual parts have small weight variations. The scale also offers Normal and Fine counting modes, with a minimum unit weight of 0.2 g in Normal Mode and 0.01 g in Fine Mode.

The GC-6K provides internal memory for up to 1,000 items, allowing frequently counted products and their unit-weight information to be recalled instead of entered repeatedly. Its Automatic Item Search (AIS) function helps operators locate stored item data quickly, while a MicroSD card can be used to extend item-data storage and transfer lists created on a computer.
